FBR sandbox scenarios explained

Sandbox scenarios are test invoices FBR asks you to post before IRIS issues your production token. Each scenario number, SN001 to SN028, stands for one kind of sale, and IRIS assigns yours from the business activity and sector you registered.

How scenarios work

  • Where to see yours: IRIS → Digital Invoicing → Sandbox Environment lists the scenarios assigned to your business.
  • What you post: one test invoice per scenario, sent to FBR's sandbox with your sandbox token, until FBR accepts it.
  • When you are done: once FBR has accepted a test invoice for every assigned scenario, IRIS shows them as successful and issues your production token.
  • They are tests: sandbox invoices are not real tax records, and a sandbox acceptance never puts FBR's invoice number and QR code on a printed invoice.

How Bilkul helps

  • You enter your business activity and sector, Bilkul suggests the matching scenarios, and you tick exactly what IRIS shows.
  • In one press, Bilkul prepares a SANDBOX test product, a test buyer and a draft invoice for each scenario, and asks you only for what it can't fill alone, such as a registered buyer's NTN.
  • In one press, it finalizes and validates every prepared test invoice with FBR's sandbox. A second press, which you confirm, submits the valid ones.
  • It tracks each scenario as not started, in progress, needs attention or accepted.
  • SN023 (sale of CNG) can't be prepared in Bilkul yet.

Questions about scenarios

Do I have to post every scenario IRIS shows?

Yes. IRIS issues the production token only after every scenario assigned to your business has a test invoice FBR accepted. Scenarios that aren't assigned to you don't need one.

What if FBR rejects a test invoice?

Bilkul shows FBR's error codes and messages for the invoice and for any line FBR flags. Fix the product, buyer or invoice, and send another test invoice for that scenario until FBR's sandbox accepts it.

Can a business have scenarios from more than one sector?

IRIS takes one sector on its Technical Details screen, so choose the one you registered with. The scenarios you must post are the ones IRIS lists for your business.
